conceptualism
The guidelines of conceptualism are “In conceptual art the idea or concept is the most important aspect of the work. When an artist uses a conceptual form of art, it means that all of the planning and decisions are made beforehand and the execution is a perfunctory affair. The idea becomes a machine that makes the art.” Pretty much anyone can make conceptual art by following these guidelines. The French artist Marcel Duchamp basically paved the path of conceptualism. One of his most famous works were produced in 1917 and people still use this style today. (Marcels work which was a urinal set on its back was rejected by an art show.)
