futurism
Futurism originated in Italy in 1909. This movement focused on aspects of the future. Things found in these paintings include technology, speed, and objects such as the car, and the industrial city. This was mostly an Italian movement but other movements could be found in Russia and England. Futurism was practiced in every medium of art, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, graphic design, industrial design, interior design, urban design, theatre, film, fashion, textiles, literature, music, and architecture. FilippoTommaso Marinetti, Umberto Boccioni, and Carlo Carrà were important figures in this movement. (Futurism)
